Wanderlust Dive Center was founded in June 2020 by Stephan & Linda Velema. We are an enthusiastic couple from Emmen (Drenthe, the Netherlands) and since December 2022 proud parents of our daughter Mara.

In the Netherlands we were always busy. We are always on. Life is always busy and never stands still. Busy job, phone always in hand to follow what is happening in the world and always be reachable, appointments, shopping and so on.

Since our very first dive we have found the moment to relax and find the ‘off’ button. Underwater you only hear your own air bubbles, you see the sun shining in the water, you float and experience weightlessness. With diving we have found the ‘off’ button to stop the busy life for a while.

After obtaining our SSI Open Water Diver certification, we did a lot of further training. Ultimately, this resulted in obtaining our SSI Open Water Instructor diving certification and many Specialty Instructor diving certifications.

On May 31, 2023 we escaped from the busy Netherlands and we live our dream in Dushi Bonaire. How wonderful it is to live in a part of the Netherlands, to work in the most beautiful sea in the world and to see our daughter grow up in a beautiful country

We have chosen the name Wanderlust Dive Center with the meaning:

‘A strong desire or urge to wander or travel and explore the world’

Together with you, we hope to increase the desire to travel and discover the (underwater) world.

We would like to share our passion for diving with you. Your first breath underwater, unwinding and enjoying a world that few people know.
