The SSI Divemaster Course is your gateway into professional diving — the perfect blend of advanced theory, leadership, and real-world experience.
In 5 to 6 intensive days, you’ll refine your dive skills, develop leadership ability, and gain the confidence to work as a dive professional anywhere in the world.

At Wanderlust Dive Center Bonaire, Divemaster candidates train directly under our in-house SSI Instructor Trainer, ensuring personal coaching, small groups, and top-tier professional standards.

Course Structure

You’ll complete a mix of academic workshops, skill demonstrations, stamina assessments, and supervised ocean sessions focused on:

• Dive leadership & group management
• Assisting SSI instructors in training environments
• Guiding certified divers safely and professionally
• Environmental responsibility & SSI Blue Oceans principles
• Emergency planning and problem-solving

Requirements

To enroll, you must be at least 18 years old, have 60 logged dives (40 diving hours), and hold these SSI certifications (or equivalents):
Diver Stress & Rescue, Deep Diving, Navigation, and Night & Limited Visibility.

Professional Privileges

Once certified, SSI Divemasters can:

• Assist during Open Water training dives, guiding no more than two (2) students during excursion dives
• Act as a certified assistant in all SSI recreational programs

• Register for SSI Ecology Specialty Instructor Training Programs to expand their professional portfolio
