The SSI Instructor Training Course (ITC) at Wanderlust Dive Center Bonaire is designed for divers who are ready to become true leaders and educators.
In an intensive 10-day program, you’ll develop the teaching, presentation, and leadership skills required to train the next generation of divers, all under the direct mentorship of our in-house SSI Instructor Trainer Stephan.

Course Structure

• 10 days of immersive professional training (optional Prep Day + $200 USD)
• Academic teaching workshops and skill development circuits

• Theory mastery and standards application
• Individual evaluations & daily debriefs
• 2-day Instructor Evaluation (IE) directly afterward (conducted by SSI, separate fee)

You’ll receive your digital materials immediately upon registration, allowing you to begin your theory preparation right away.
Before the course, participants may submit skill videos for personal feedback, and join 1–2 Zoom prep sessions to ensure full readiness.

Requirements

To join the ITC, you must:

• Be 18 years or older
• Hold SSI Divemaster (or equivalent)
• Hold Enriched Air Nitrox 40 %
• Have 60 logged dives / 40 hours at start, and 100 dives / 65 hours by completion
• Be certified as an Open Water Diver (or higher) for at least six (6) months before starting

Upon passing the IE, graduates are certified as SSI Open Water Instructors, qualified to teach:

Graduates can immediately continue with the SSI Specialty Instructor Bundle (5 for 4) or begin training toward Divemaster Instructor certification.
