Cancellation & No-Show Policy

At Wanderlust Dive Center we carefully plan our courses, guided dives, equipment rentals and professional training programs to ensure personal attention, safety and high quality service.
To keep our operations clear, fair and professionally manageable, the following cancellation and no-show conditions apply.
- Scope
This policy applies to all bookings, including recreational dives, guided dives, equipment rentals, SSI training courses and PRO-level programs provided by Wanderlust Dive Center B.V.
By placing a booking, you agree to this policy.
- Free Cancellation
Cancellations are free of charge up to 72 hours before the start of the booked activity, unless otherwise stated in this policy.
- Cancellations Within 72 Hours
Cancellations made within 72 hours before the scheduled start time are charged at 100 percent of the total booking amount.
For cancellations made more than 72 hours in advance where SSI digital course materials have already been activated, the cost of these materials is non-refundable.
Activated digital materials remain the property of the student.
- No-Show
A no-show is always charged at 100 percent of the booking amount.
A no-show applies when you:
- Do not arrive at the agreed time
- Arrive too late to participate safely
- Cannot present a valid certification required for the activity
- Do not pass the medical questionnaire
- Refuse or fail to complete required documents
- Are not ready on time with equipment and preparation, making the activity unsafe or impossible
In all cases, the full amount will be charged.
- SSI Training Courses
5.1 Digital Materials
SSI digital training materials are non-refundable once activated, regardless of the time of cancellation.
5.2 Cancellations Within 72 Hours
Cancellations within 72 hours of the course start date are charged at 100 percent of the course fee.
5.3 Discontinuation During the Course
If a student cannot continue due to insufficient skills, lack of preparation, stress, personal limitations or failure to meet SSI standards, no refund will be issued.
5.4 Additional Training
Additional training sessions may be booked at the applicable rate.
- Guided Dives
- Free cancellation up to 48 hours before the dive
- Cancellations within 48 hours: 100 percent charge
- No-show: 100 percent charge
Arriving too late to safely conduct the dive is considered a no-show.
- Equipment Rental
- Cancellations within 48 hours: 100 percent charge
- Early return of rental equipment does not result in a refund
- Damage, loss or late return will be charged according to applicable replacement or penalty rates
- Medical Cancellations
For medical cancellations, Wanderlust Dive Center may offer one of the following options:
- Rescheduling to a new date (subject to availability), or
- Partial refund upon submission of a valid medical certificate issued by a licensed physician
Failing the medical questionnaire on the day of the activity is considered a no-show.
- Rescheduling
- Rescheduling more than 72 hours in advance: free of charge
- Rescheduling within 72 hours: treated as a cancellation under standard conditions
- All rescheduling requests are subject to availability
- Cancellations by Wanderlust Dive Center
Wanderlust Dive Center reserves the right to cancel or reschedule activities due to, but not limited to:
- Unsafe weather or sea conditions
- Strong winds or currents
- Poor visibility
- Illness, emergency or unavailability of staff
- Technical issues with equipment or vehicles
- Any situation where safety cannot be guaranteed
In such cases, the customer may choose between:
- Rescheduling to a new date, or
- A refund of the amount already paid
Activated SSI digital materials remain non-refundable.
No additional compensation will be provided.
- Exceptional Circumstances & Force Majeure
Wanderlust Dive Center is not liable for circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to:
- War or threat of war
- Geopolitical tensions
- Governmental actions or restrictions
- Closure or restriction of airspace
- Official negative travel advisories
- Large-scale flight cancellations by airlines
11.1 Definition of Force Majeure
Such circumstances are only considered force majeure when they result in official, verifiable restrictions that objectively prevent travel to Bonaire or make it impossible for Wanderlust Dive Center to safely provide the booked activity.
Authoritative sources include:
- Official government authorities (including but not limited to the Netherlands, United States and European Union)
- Airlines
- Local authorities on Bonaire
Media reports, news coverage or personal concerns do not constitute force majeure.
11.2 Consequences of Force Majeure
In the event of force majeure:
- Bookings will be rescheduled to a new date
- No automatic refunds will be issued
- Activated SSI digital materials remain non-refundable
Customers must provide appropriate documentation, such as flight cancellation notices or official travel advisories.
- No Refund for Personal Circumstances
No refunds will be issued when participation is not possible due to personal circumstances, including but not limited to:
- Personal safety concerns without official travel restrictions
- Media-driven anxiety
- Lack of transportation
- Misreading meeting times
- Jet lag or fatigue
- Forgotten or incomplete equipment
- Customer-caused miscommunication
- How to Cancel
Cancellations must be submitted via:
- Telephone
- In person at the dive center
The time of receipt determines the official cancellation moment.
- Applicable Law
This policy is governed by the laws of Bonaire (Caribbean Netherlands).
Any disputes will be submitted exclusively to the competent court on Bonaire.
